Tea stains might be light in color, but the brown mark it leaves on a cup, clothing, carpet, or any piece of furniture is difficult to eliminate. However, there are several tips and tricks to getting the spot of brown to fade, from soaking the spot to rubbing it with soap. You should start with whichever method you feel is best for you, and if that one doesn’t work, try another way.

As you would have heard before too; the greatest approach to remove tea stains from clothing is to take care of it as soon as possible, the longer it sits, the more difficult and challenging it will be to remove it.

There are many ways to get rid of these stains however, the simplest way to remove tea or coffee stains is to pour water that is slightly warm directly through the fabric.

Warm water

You can start by holding the piece of clothing over your skin, or even better, fix it in a place to make full use of your hands. After that, you can warm some water in a kettle so that you know it is warm enough to touch and not boiling. Start by slowly putting the warm water directly on the stain so that it can easily get through the fibers of the clothing and out from the other side.

After 15 seconds, you can stop pouring and put a few drops of the detergent you use to do the laundry to both sides of the clothing where the stain is. Make sure to rub the detergent and then continue to rinse the clothing until you are sure that all of the solutions have dissolved in it.

Stain remover products

There are some stains that are more stubborn or might cover more areas than the above-mentioned hack can sufficiently deal with. For these times, what you can do is simply try soaking your piece of clothing in the stain remover product before you actually give it away for laundry.

It is important to read the instructions of the product you are using, mostly all stain removers work in similar ways:

  • Just fill a bucket or your sink with slightly warm water and the detergent along with following the instructions on the back of your product. After that, make sure you let your clothing dissolve in the solution for a couple of hours. This is supposed to loosen the stain and make it easy for the washing machine to get rid of it. After some hours have passed, your fabric will be ready to get washed like usual.

Many of you might think that these tea and coffee stains are permanent and have destroyed your new dress however, this has hardly any truth in it. Tea stains are not permanent until you leave them, untreated for a couple of days. The tip is to clean it as soon as you get a chance so that it is less difficult to remove it!
